Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend all children ages 5-11 receive two dose series of Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.
Key points for parents and caregivers:
The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for children 5 through 11 years of age is administered as a two-dose primary series, 3 weeks apart, but is a lower dose (10 micrograms) than that used for individuals 12 years of age and older (30 micrograms).
Side effects among children who recive this vaccine are very similar to side effects observed in the adult population including pain at the injection site, low grade fever, chills, headache, body aches and fatigue which usually resolves within 1-3 days.
